I wish to write and tell you how much the care and kindness of all at The White Gables has meant to us as a family after the distressing circumstances we found ourselves in recently…Since my mother arrived there we all have the utmost confidence in their care, and their kindness is remarked upon by Mum every time I visit. The Manager is always very approachable and willing to discuss any matters even of minor concern, and all staff are very friendly. Nothing seems too much trouble. The atmosphere is always calm and homely. I do feel we are fortunate to have Mum at White Gables.

Mum is always saying that the meals are very good, and that the menu is always varied and if any of the residents happen to say that they would like something in particular, the cooks always oblige, for example Christmas Pudding in March or pancakes in December.

Mum says that there is always something going on so she never gets lonely. The keep-fit lady goes once a fortnight.

All the staff are very caring and nothing is too much trouble for them. Mr & Mrs Nix, Heather and Michael, do a very good job of running White Gables and lastly all Mum’s family, relations and her many friends are always made to feel very welcome.

My first impressions, on walking in, were how cosy and homely the place felt. It was very clean and there were no “nasty smells”. My mother said she liked it. During our interview with Heather I was impressed by her caring nature and she seemed to understand how I felt. She asked many questions to my Mother’s needs, likes and dislikes. I felt straight away that this was the place my Mother could be happy.

During the three years she has lived there my Mother has enjoyed the musical entertainment and sing alongs, games of bingo, movement to music to help keep them active.

Both my sister and myself would like to express our complete satisfaction and trust with both the management of White Gables and the lovely staff, every single one of them, who have looked after and cared for our mother since she came to reside in their care.

We have seen such an improvement in her health and her well being as a person. All due to such wonderful care – we cannot praise them enough! We have done the best thing possible for her by placing mother at the White Gables.
